The Proactive Medical Protekt Aire 6000 84″ Low Air Loss/Alternating Pressure Mattress System 80066 is available in both an 80-inch or 84-inch (Tall) sleep surface capable of preventing and treating pressure ulcers from Stage I through IV. The 8″ height mattress features a Seat-Inflate mode (similar to the function of Fowler on some mattresses) that can be activated manually at the control pump to push additional air to the center of the mattress to help prevent the user from “bottoming out” when the head section is articulated (raised) high enough that the user’s upper body weight shifts to their buttocks region.

An additional benefit of the manual Seat-Inflate feature is that the mattress head section can be articulated at any degree without the Alternating Pressure feature being disengaged, as with most mattresses featuring an Auto Fowler. As long as the Seat-Inflate has not been manually activated, the Alternating Pressure will continue to function. *Note: This may require raising the firmness setting to allow more air to reach the center of the mattress to prevent the user from bottoming out if articulating above 40-degrees. The Aire 6000 is available with optional raised side edges to help minimize the risk of a user being trapped between mattress and side rails.
